OT Charlatry

Is the God of the OT a charlatan? After all He appeared before men and called Himself God Almighty and Jehovah Elohim and represented Himself as the One and Only God. Yet wasn't He the same person who claimed to be Christ? Christ, as we know from Knoch, is not the Supreme Deity. Ergo, He is a lesser God, and has no right to call Himself by the names He did in the OT. I repeat, was the God of the OT, and by extension, Christ of the NT, a charlatan? A liar?
